Greetings!
I am glad that you have reached out to me for treatment so you can return to greater balance and ease in your life.
I would like to share with you my personal and professional journey to obtain a Masters in Chinese Medicine. Being raised in Hawaii, a true melting pot, gave me the opportunity to meet people from different cultures and understand their heritage. As a result, I was introduced to the long philosophical and healing traditions from the East. I was attracted to the clear difference between Western thinking that divides the mind from the body and the more integrated Eastern perspective.
After moving to Oregon, I became a massage therapist, initially thinking of it as a way to help people relax and reduce stress as well as be a healthy vocation. During this period, I began dance and improv which inspires an “in the moment” mindset. I became increasingly driven by the understanding that the mind cannot be separated from the body to create well-being and healing. I then attended Naropa University, a national leader in holistic healing, where I majored in Health, Healing, and Dance/Movement Studies.
In 1989, I enrolled in the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) where I earned my Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition to becoming adept in acupuncture techniques, I studied the empirical evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of acupuncture in treating a wide range of joint and neurological conditions. I have had the pleasure of assisting many clients move from pain, anxiety, and compromised mobility to a full balanced life.
In addition to practicing acupuncture for over 28 years, I have continually aimed to serve my community. I was appointed to the board of OCOM, taught courses in charting, coding, and ethics, and have also served as President of the Oregon Acupuncture Association and national work groups in my field.
YOU CAN ACHIEVE BALANCE AND BUOYANCY IN YOUR ACTIVE LIFE
